Different Types of Bonds

Surety Bond

With surety bonds, the client does not post the full amount of the bail in cash but instead pays a 10% premium fee to the bondsman. Surety bonds are the most common method for posting bail in Florida.

Cash Bail

For cash bail, an individual must post the full amount of the bond to the court. If the defendant appears to all court proceedings, the cash will be returned, typically within 60-90 days after the defendant's case is finalized. If the defendant does not appear before the court, the cash bond is forfeited to the court.

Own Recognizance

Typically used in lesser offenses, a defendant can be released on their Own Recognizance. The defendant signs a written promise to appear in court for future proceedings.
